Our History
This is how it all began…
After several years of working in the hair replacement industry, Barbara Richardson Bailey started this business in 1993. We reached out to her, to hear her story of how she got started:
“I became a part of the Cosmetology world right out of High School. Hair was always a passion of mine even at an early age. After years of working in a hair salon, I felt the need for a change, a challenge. I accepted the Position of Styles Director at Hair Club in Charlotte. Little did I know where this journey would lead. In 1993 I had the opportunity to open the doors of my own hair replacement studio close to Charlotte, in the Matthews area. It was the most rewarding experience of my life. We worked with clients who suffered hair loss due to both medical and non-medical concerns, including genetics, alopecia, chemotherapy, trichotillomania, and hormones. We had the pleasure of solving their individual hair loss concerns, even when the clients that came to us had lost hope, and thought there were no options available.
“Well! 25 years later my legacy still exists, thanks to my friend and co-worker, Deanna Needham. She purchased the business from me when I was ready to retire. I was so pleased that I could comfortably pass on the ownership with confidence that the same level of professionalism would continue. Deanna has the same passion and desire to help men and women suffering from any type of hair thinning or hair loss. Deanna and her staff focus on giving their clients empathy, in a warm, friendly, and private setting.
I hope they will continue for another 25 years!”
Deanna Needham purchased the business in 2014.
Deanna has been a stylist for over 20 years, and most of her career has been in the hair replacement segment of the industry.
Deanna says, “I love to see the transformation of men and women when they leave the Studio. It is so gratifying. They are so thrilled, ready to live their lives once again with confidence! It’s great to do something that can make such a difference.”
We have clients that have been with us for many years, so it’s fun to celebrate this anniversary with them, as well as with the newer clients. In addition to hair replacement, we are a Full Service Salon, offering cut, color, permanents, and styling for clients not challenged with hair loss. We provide hair extensions for luxurious long locks, eyelash extensions for longer, fuller lashes, and human hair eyebrows. Facial waxing is also available.
